Botched plastic surgery can happen to anyone, however the rate of complications reported by board certified plastic surgeons are quite low. But it’s still a good idea to discuss all the possible complications with your doctor before your surgery so you are fully informed.

All cosmetic surgery facelift procedures require general anesthesia. This is where many people have the worst reaction. The side effects of anesthesia can include:

-stroke -brain damage -heart attack -blood clots -abnormal heart rate

If you have any heart or lung problems you have a greater risk of complications from the anesthesia. Therefore you should discuss all of your medical conditions with your plastic surgeon a head of time and inform him/her of any medication you are taking. The American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery (ASAPS) says that even though there are some complications with anesthesia, the mortality rate is less than one half of one percent

Avoid Botched Plastic Surgery. You can’t guarantee that your surgery will be free from any complication, you can increase your chances of success by selecting a board certified qualified surgeon – is to be up front and totally honest with your doctor. Also, let him know of any medical problems you may have or of any supplements and medications you are taking. And, follow his directions before and after surgery.
